Sheehan, Hammond lead Ridgefield Raptors to 4-3 win over Yakima Valley

Cole Sheehan went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBI and Blake Hammond threw five shutout innings as the Ridgefield Raptors beat the Yakima Valley Pippins 4-3 on Tuesday, extending the Raptors’ winning streak to five games.

A two-run double by Sheehan (Pepperdine) in the sixth inning game the Raptors (9-6) a 4-0 lead.

Reiss Calvin (Ventura College) went 2 for 2 with two runs.

Hammond (Northwest Nazarene) allowed two hits and struck out five over five innings of work. Camden Oram (Lower Columbia) pitched the final four innings for the save, setting down the side in order in the ninth inning.

The two teams play the second game of the three-game series at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday in Yakima.
