Jacob Sharp, in just his second game back with the Ridgefield Raptors, singled home Royce Clayton with the go-ahead run with two outs in the top of the ninth inning and the Raptors topped the Yakima Valley Pippins 5-4 on Wednesday at Yakima County Stadium.

Sharp, a junior at UNLV, was 0 for 7 before his RBI single.

Ridgefield (10-6) has won six games in a row and will go for the sweep against the Pippins (6-11) on Thursday night.

A four-run sixth inning accounted for the bulk of the Raptors scoring.

With one out, Quincy Scott singled and then Andy Allanson followed with a double. Nick Seamons brought home Scott on a sacrifice fly.

An error and a walk loaded the bases, and Andy Ambriz cleaned them off with a double for a 4-0 Ridgefield advantage.

Yakima got three runs back in its half of the sixth on two hits. The Pippins then tied the game with a run in the eighth.

Allanson was 2 for 4 with a double and a run scored, and Ambriz was 2 for 4 with his three-run double.

Nate Wenzel (2-0) got the win, pitching the last two innings.
