No one was injured in an early Saturday morning structure fire in the Proebstel neighborhood in east Vancouver.

The Vancouver Fire Department was dispatched at 3:30 a.m. to a report of deck fire near the 8100 block of N.E. 217th Ave.

The home owner called 911 and the residents were able to escape safely.

First on scene firefighters reported fire and smoke from three sides of the home. Four large-capacity water tenders from East County Fire and Rescue, Clark County Fire District 3 and Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue were used to fight the fire to the absence of nearby fire hydrants.

The fire is under investigation by the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office.
