Cold-shooting Mark Morris falls to Lynden 61-43 in 2A boys state final

Mark Morris got off to a slow shooting start, and things did not improve in the second half as the Monarchs fell 61-43 to Lynden in the championship game of the Class 2A boys basketball state tournament Saturday in Yakima.

The Monarchs (25-3) shot 27.3 percent (6 for 22) in the first half as the Monarchs fell behind 25-16 in the first half.

Lynden (24-4) did not let the Monarchs rally, shooting 56 percent (14 of 25) in the second half while still playing tough defense.

Braydon Olson led Mark Morris with 21 points and six rebounds. He was the lone Monarch in double figures as Mark Morris went 1 for 15 from 3-point range. Kobe Parlin was limited to six points, making just 1 of 4 field goals.
