Letter: Camas could use another restaurant

My husband and I were walking in downtown Camas yesterday, which we often do. Such a charming downtown with a growing retail interest. We were sorry to see another vacancy in eating establishments and were hoping for another restaurant to take its place. After reading letters to the editor (“Leave downtown Camas for business,” Our Readers’ Views, April 22), I realized that we wouldn’t be adding another needed food venue to downtown Camas but rather another spot for Journey Church.

I so agree with what was said in that letter. Journey is fulfilling a need for a small portion of the community and has a great location on Fourth Avenue. Taxes aside (which is certainly a major consideration), it would be nice to be able to stay in Camas when we wanted to go to dinner/lunch with friends or just an evening out for my husband and myself. It would seem that there are other locations nearby, but not on the major downtown retail street, that could fill the bill for Journey.
