Skyview softball’s Maddie Milhorn is The Columbian 2022-23 Week 27 prep athlete of the week

Milhorn had a nearly perfect week and in the pitching circle

Skyivew softball player Maddie Milhorn is the The Columbian 2022-23 Week 27 high school athlete of the week, presented by Heavy Metal Pizza in Vancouver.

Milhorn received 347 of the 925 votes cast this week to win the weekly honor.

The sophomore went 7 for 7 with with two home runs, five RBI and struck out 18 over eight scoreless innings pitched.

Winners of the athlete-of-the-week may not be nominated again during the regular season, and no athlete may be nominated in consecutive weeks.

Nominees are posted and voting begins each Monday and runs through Wednesday.

Here are the accomplishments of the other nominees:

SHAELA BRADLEY, LA CENTER GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD: Bradley won the 100 meters (11.9 seconds) and the 400 meters (58.79) at the Spudder Track and Field Classic.

JADE GRUHER, UNION GIRLS GOLF: The senior won her singles match at the Titan Cup, then set a school-record for nine holes by carding a 4-under 33 at Tri-Mountain.

LANDON KELSEY, RIDGEFIELD BOYS TRACK AND FIELD: Kelsey won the long jump and triple jump and took third in both hurdles events at the Spudder Track and Field Classic.

DALTON WOODS, SETON CATHOLIC BASEBALL: Woods went 9 for 13 with four doubles, a triple and seven RBI over four games for the Cougars.
