KENNEWICK — A 37-year-old Puyallup man died hours after he was found outside his burning truck along Interstate 182.

Jesus Solorio Gil, 37, had just exited Interstate 82, and was heading east on Interstate 182 when he lost control of his Silverado pickup about 10 p.m. Saturday, the Washington State Patrol said.

The truck veered off the road, flipped and ended up on its wheels by the side of the highway two miles outside of West Richland.

No one reported seeing the crash happen. A passerby discovered him lying outside of the burning Silverado, Washington State Trooper Chris Thorson said.

Solorio Gil was rushed to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, where he died about 7:30 a.m.

Since the seat belts were destroyed in the fire, investigators couldn’t tell whether he was wearing one.

WSP investigators are not sure what caused him to lose control.

Solorio Gil worked as a roofer, according to public records.
