Letter: Pickleball courts, dog parks needed

By Liam McGill, VANCOUVER

Over the past several years, housing projects have sprouted throughout the area. Salmon Creek has experienced much of this growth. What is now needed are recreational facilities to accommodate the growing population. To my knowledge, Lincoln Elementary School tennis courts are the only public pickleball courts in the city. The city should address this shortage as pickleball is a very popular activity for people of all ages. We are also in need of a new dog park in Salmon Creek.

I believe that the solution can be found at 119th Avenue around 56th Street. The city/county owns a large tract of land that would be perfect for a combined pickleball court and dog park. If you build it, they will come.
