Letter: Perez works for district

I was struck by Ms. Anderson’s letter (“Perez loses touch,” Our Readers’ Views, Nov. 4). Apparently she does not subscribe to The Columbian.

The Columbian has been hot on Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez’s heels following her work in Congress. It has reported on her activity and votes. She solves individual issues from our 3rd District and secures grant after grant, including support for veterans. While I’m not enthused with all her stances, I admire her dedication to representing our district. (By the way, Perez voted with Republicans on almost all issues coming to a vote this past month.)

Anderson claimed that Perez is not looking after our district. She then rambled about her votes on national issues. This kind of irrelevancy damages informed discussion. Can we please have a little more light rather than heat in this coming year?
