La Center traps, removes beavers after damage spotted in Heritage Park

They may be cute and fun to spot on a hike along a river or lake, but Washington’s beaver population can be a problem for land owners.

Shawn Behling, assistant furbearer biologist for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, said the number of conflicts between the semi-aquatic rodents and humans is holding steady, with some exceptions.
