Non-league football: Union 30, Stanwood 13

Blake McDonald threw two touchdown passes and Alex Olson rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown as the Titans beat Stanwood 30-13 in a non-league game on the road.

The Titans’ bend-but-don’t-break defense gave up 181 yards rushing to Silas Turpin, but got the stops when they needed.

Olson and Chase Lofton had touchdown runs and McDonald hit Jordan Warren on a touchdown passes as the Titans scored 20 second-quarter points to build a 23-13 halftime lead.

The Titans shut out Stanwood in the second half as McDonald’s 55-yard touchdown pass to Ben Hallead helped seal the win.
