Prep Highlights: Bice’s overtime goal gives Prairie soccer crucial win over Kelso

Falcons have three-point lead in 3A GSHL with two matches to play

Elsa Bice’s second goal ended the match in overtime as Prairie beat Kelso 4-3 for a crucial Class 3A Greater St. Helens League girls soccer win.

Bice’s match-winner capped a furious comeback for the Falcons, who trailed 3-1 at halftime on the road.

With the win, Prairie (7-3-1, 5-0-1 3A GSHL) moves three points clear of Mountain View in the race for the league title. The Falcons and Thunder each have two league matches remaining.

Avery Hoskins and Maddie Boston also scored for the Falcons. Mya Toguchi assisted on three goals, including Bice’s winner.

Stars of the Day

Ella Berfanger, Union slowpitch softball, went 4 for 4 with four doubles and three RBI in a 15-0 win over Battle Ground/Heritage.

Grace Crocker, Camas slowpitch softball, went 2 for 4 with four RBI and two doubles in a 7-6 win over Skyview.

Delaney Bollman, Evergreen slowpitch softball, went 4 for 5 with five RBI in a 23-2 win over Fort Vancouver.

Ava Rodman, R.A. Long slowpitch softball, went 4 for 4 with a home run and five RBI in a 16-6 win over Prairie.
