Letter: Progressives have right ideas

By Debra Di Piazza, VANCOUVER

Tom Seward’s letter (“You get the government you vote for,” Our Readers’ Views, Oct. 23) sent me to The Congressional Progressive Caucus page, The Progressive Promise. I was fully prepared to find there all nine circles of commie hell. But wait: “dignity, justice, and peace for all”? Universal health care (as Medicare for all)? A minimum wage a family can live on, with a secure retirement after work life ends? An end to endless wars? Real action on climate change? Billionaires paying their fair share of taxes?

If this is socialism, sign me up!

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
