4A GSHL Football: Camas 28, Battle Ground 0

Jake Davidson threw for 200 yards and two touchdowns as Camas clinched the 4A Greater St. Helens League title with a 28-0 win over Battle Ground at District Stadium.

Davidson connected with Zulu Lopez from 22 yards to give Camas a 14-0 lead on the final play before halftime. He then hit Chase McGee for a 21-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring.

Camas outgained Battle Ground 220-16 in the first half.

But Battle Ground drove 59 yards on the opening possession of the second half, all the way down to the Camas 7. But the Tigers turned the ball over on downs.

Camas then drove 93 yards on 11 plays, with Alex Hroza rushed for 34 yards, to take a 21-0 lead on Hroza’s 5-yard touchdown run.

Camas (8-1 overall, 3-0 4A GSHL) will await the Week 10 seeding committee decision on Sunday to find out who the Papermakers will be facing to open the postseason next weekend..
