Clark County adds RV host sites to 3 regional parks

Visitors to Clark County’s Lucia Falls, Frenchman’s Bar and Salmon Creek regional parks this fall and winter will see construction of RV pads for park hosts. Two pads will be installed at Salmon Creek Regional Park: One at the softball fields and one at the Klineline Pond area.

Construction is not expected to result in significant closures or impact visitors. However, visitors are reminded to stay clear of work areas and never enter areas closed with signs, caution tape, cones, barricades or other devices.

Park hosts live on-site at several county parks and provide custodial and maintenance services. Hosts also improve park security by being a round-the-clock presence to deter and report criminal activity. Hosts also assist with storm response, emergency response and crowd control. While a few hosts reside in residences owned by the county, most hosts are provided an RV pad and hookups to live in their own RV.

Exact construction dates are to be determined and weather dependent. Construction dates and potential impacts to park users will be posted at clark.wa.gov/public-works as information becomes available. Updates will also be posted to the Public Works social media profiles and on signs posted at the construction locations.

The project is expected to be complete by late spring 2024. Applications for park host positions at these parks will not be accepted until construction is complete and a call for applications is posted on the Public Works website.
