Clark County Jail repairs underway as extensive remodel project looms

Work begins to improve safety for staff, prisoners

Clark County is preparing to undertake a major renovation of its jail facilities within the next two to three years. While waiting for the larger project to begin, Jail Services Director David Shook said there’s a lot of work at the jail needed now.

Several improvement and repair projects separate from the larger remodeling project have been completed, are in progress or are planned, including shower and plumbing upgrades, changes to make the jail compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act and replacing the jail’s freezer/cooler.
