Grady Millar of Mountain View is the Week 1 Columbian prep athlete of the week

Voting will remain open through 7 p.m. Thursday

Mountain View golfer Grady Millar is The Columbian 2023-24 Week 1 high school athlete of the week.

Millar received 658 of the 1,700 votes cast last week to win the honor.

The junior shot a 4-under 32 at Camas Meadows and a 4-under 33 at Tri-Mountain in two wins for the Thunder.

Winners of the athlete-of-the-week may not be nominated again during the regular season, and no athlete may be nominated in consecutive weeks.

The next athlete-of-the-week vote will have nominees posted each Tuesday, and the vote runs through the following Thursday.

Here are the accomplishments of the other Week 1 nominees.

ADRIANNE AGBAYANI, EVERGREEN GIRLS SOCCER: The senior had four goals and two assists in two wins for Evergreen.

KENDALL MAIRS, CAMAS VOLLEYBALL: The junior had 27 kills, 21 digs, 18 assists and 5 blocks in two wins for the Papermakers.

NEFTALI MENENDEZ, COLUMBIA RIVER BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: The senior won the Steve Maas Run-A-Ree at Hudson’s Bay in 15 minutes, 48 seconds.

CHARLOTTE WILSON, UNION GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: The senior won the Steve Maas Run-A-Ree at Hudson’s Bay in 19 minutes, 11 seconds.
