Vancouver reduces criminal diversion fee for some individuals

Those who qualify can pay $50 to participate

Last month, the city of Vancouver reduced the participation fee for its criminal diversion program to promote access for low-income individuals.

The city had charged between $500 and $700 to participate in the prosecution diversion program — a program for offenders with minimal criminal history that provides an alternative to criminal conviction.
