The Vancouver Volcanoes enter this weekend in first place in The Basketball League’s Pacific Northwest Division.

Vancouver heads into the home stretch of the regular season Saturday with a home game against Great Falls. The Volcanoes (11-3) have a two-game lead over Seattle with six games remaining.

Saturday’s game at 7 p.m. at Hudson’s Bay High School comes after Vancouver swept two games at Great Falls last weekend. The Volcanoes earned a 116-99 win last Friday before concluding the Montana road trip with a 105-96 victory the next day.

Marcus Golder continues to shine for Vancouver. He scored 33 points in Friday’s win to raise his average to 25 points per game, fifth-best in The Basketball League.

The following day Tyshon Pickett led the way with 36 points, making 16 of 23 shots from the field. It’s the fourth consecutive game Pickett has scored 20 points or more.

Saturday’s home game is a fundraiser for the Northwest Association of Blind Athletes with 50 percent of proceeds going to that nonprofit. Tickets are $10.

The Volcanoes then head to Eugene on Sunday to face the Emerald City Jaguars.
