Recap: The Raptors (31-23 overall, 21-7 2nd half) ended the West Coast League regular season with a series loss to the Sweets (21-33, 12-16). The loss spoiled Ridgefield’s hopes for a second-half title and instead dropped the Raptors’ playoff seeding down. The Raptors were held to six hits with one run in the fifth inning on Taylor Takata’s sacrifice fly, and one run in the sixth on Jovan Camacho’s single.

Raptors bats: Camacho (West Texas A&M) was 2 for 2 with his RBI and the only Ridgefield player with multiple hits on the night. … Colby Wallace (CS Fullerton) ended the regular season with a five-game hit streak as he went 1 for 2 with three walks. He hit .343 with three homers and 13 RBI in his 20 games. … Takata (Hawai’i) finished the regular season with a batting average of .323 with 22 RBI in his 44 games.

Raptors arms: Jake Swenson (Linfield) started and took the loss. He gave up six runs on five hits with five strikeouts and two walks in four innings. … Drew Townson (Fresno State) followed on the mound and allowed five runs on four hits with three walks. … Damian Pantoya (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) pitched the last 2 1/3 innings and had four strikeouts, a walk and no hits against the eight batters he faced.

Up next: The Raptors will play seven-time West Coast League champion Corvallis Knights in a best-of-three divisional series beginning Saturday with a 6:35 p.m. game at the RORC. Free grass berm tickets, thanks to presenting sponsors ilani and the Cowlitz Indian Tribe, are available online at https://fevo-enterprise.com/event/raptorsplayoff

Game 2 will be at Corvallis on Sunday. Game 3, if necessary, would be Monday at Corvallis.
