Boys basketball: Columbia River beats Fort Vancouver to keep 2A GSHL title hopes alive

John Reeder and Carter Sheron scored 14 points each as the Columbia River boys basketball team beat Fort Vancouver 83-63 on Friday to keep pace with Mark Morris in the 2A Greater St. Helens League.

The Rapids (14-5, 12-2 2A GSHL) face a big showdown Saturday in Longview with the first-place Monarchs (15-5, 14-1).

Adam Reeder added 13 points for River, and Aaron Hoey had 10.

Josiah Jointer scored 20 for Fort Vancouver.

KELSO 66, HERITAGE 53 — Michael Henderson scored 21 points and Hayden Yore added 17 as Kelso set the stage for a showdown Monday with Evergreen.

Kelso will host Evergreen on Monday with the winner taking the 3A Greater St. Helens League title.

Bryar Iddings added 12 for the Hilanders. Jayce Gallant led Heritage with 19 points.

LA CENTER 90, COLUMBIA-WHITE SALMON 50 — Austin Nixon scored 18 points to lead five Wildcats in double figures as La Center moved into position to claim the No. 2 seed from the Trico League to the 1A district playoffs.

La Center (8-11, 7-3 Trico) will be the No. 2 seed if Stevenson falls at Seton Catholic on Saturday.

Sharp Young and Anthony Larkin added 14 each for La Center, and Logan Rainey and Carter Sherry had 10 points.

Hunter Wang led Columbia with 18 points.

SKYVIEW 77, EVERGREEN 46 — Ryan Hanson scored 19 points to lead five Skyview players in double figures.

Malakai Weimer scored 15 points, Jaxson Filler had 14, Demaree Collins had 13 and Gavin Perdue added 11.

Demarian Walden had nine points to lead Evergreen, which played without its two leading scorers. The Plainsmen face a pivotal game Monday at Kelso for the 3A GSHL title.
