Girls Basketball Roundup: Washougal keeps season alive with tiebreaker win

Bockert sets single-season Woodland records in loss

Ireland Albaugh scored 21 points and hit five of her team’s 10 3-pointers as the Washougal girls basketball beat Woodland 61-54 to keep their season alive.

After winning Tuesday’s fifth-place tiebreaker, the Panthers (11-11) will host Aberdeen in a 2A district play-in game on Thursday.

Jenna Klopman scored 16 points and Addilyn Gibbons added 13 points for Washougal, which steadily built its lead to 48-46 after three quarters in the game at Fort Vancouver High.

Woodland freshman Kennedy Bockert scored 28 points to cap a record-setting campaign. She set single-season program records in points (438) and rebounds (301).

UNION 68, SKYVIEW 51 — The Titans (17-3, 4-2) earned a road win in their regular-season finale to clinch second place in the Class 4A GSHL.

Skyview (12-9, 2-4) is also headed to the bi-district tournament as the league’s No. 3 seed.
