BATTLE GROUND — River HomeLink fourth-grader Brynn Boldemann entered the Petco Love Foundation National Essay Contest last fall, and was recently awarded the top national prize in the contest. A $100,000 grant was awarded to Three Little Pitties Rescue organization in her honor.

Three Little Pitties Rescue takes dogs and cats from Texas who would otherwise be euthanized and brings them to the Pacific Northwest for adoption and fostering. Thousands of pets are rescued every year.

Brynn, 10, was inspired to write her essay by the family dog, Biggie the bulldog, whom they adopted through Three Little Pitties’ rescue program.
