Volunteer Opportunities: You Can Help

Hope Bereavement Services of PeaceHealth Hospice is seeking volunteers to assist with Stepping Stones, children’s bereavement program.

Facilitated by PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center Foundation, Stepping Stones provides grief support for children, teens and their families.

Volunteers are trained to listen and reflect with families who have experienced the death of a loved one. The free training session is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 26 at PeaceHealth Hospice in Vancouver, 5400 MacArthur Blvd. Hospice volunteer training is also required. Volunteers are asked to make a minimum commitment of one year.

Ren Locus-Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Vancouver seeks volunteers to provide free tax filing services for low- and moderate-income residents.

Training is available to help volunteers pass the IRS tax-preparation certification exams. During tax season, Jan. 30 through April 15, the minimum commitment is four hours per week. Year round hours are also available.
