The Clark Regional Wastewater District has received full accreditation in its business practices by the American Public Works Association. This is the fifth accreditation for the district.

The accreditation recognizes the district is in full compliance with the recommended management practices set forth in the association’s manual.

“The district is committed to delivering professional wastewater services to our community. The (American Public Works Association) process requires that we meet or exceed national standards for almost 300 different practice areas,” said John Peterson, general manager of the wastewater district. “By achieving full compliance with all practices, our customers should have trust and confidence that the district is delivering excellent service in all aspects of our business.”

For the district’s fifth review, a team of public works professionals from the cities of Arvada, Colo., and Lincoln, Neb., completed the district operations review.

The district received its first accreditation in September 2005 and was the 26th agency in North America to receive accreditation. It is among nine agencies in Washington and 201 nationally to have achieved this recognition.
