The Vancouver Police Department is hosting an open house for people interested in volunteer opportunities.

The event is 1:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the agency’s West Precinct, 2800 N.E. Stapleton Road, in the community room.

At the open house, people can meet current volunteers and some of the officers who work with the volunteers, according to a police news release.

The agency is accepting applications for the spring Neighbors on Watch Academy, which runs April 11 to May 9.
