An Oregon man hit by a tractor-trailer May 15 on Interstate 205 in Salmon Creek has died of his injuries, the Washington State Patrol said Friday.

Jason Rivera Peinado, 18, of Gresham, Ore., had parked his car on the shoulder of I-205 south near 134th Street. He exited his vehicle, stepped into the roadway and was struck by a tractor-trailer driven by Martin J. Gorton, 60, of Vancouver. Gorton was not injured in the crash, according to a State Patrol crash memo.

No drugs or alcohol appear to have been involved in the crash, according to the State Patrol.

Rivera Peinado was initially treated at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center before being transferred to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland, where he died.
