Clark County’s Climate Environmental Justice Coalition will meet at 3:30 p.m. Monday.

New legislation requires the county add a climate element to its growth management plan, which is due to be updated by June 2025. The coalition, which is comprised of 15 community-based organizations, helps the county meet the public engagement and environmental justice requirements.

The legislation emphasizes that planning and policy decisions related to climate change do not impact us all in the same way. The county coalition is one of three advisory groups supporting the county’s climate project.

Coalition meetings are usually held at 3:30 p.m. the first Monday of each month in room 698 of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St., Vancouver. Meetings are held in a hybrid format with both in-person and virtual participation options. For information on how to join virtually, go to https://clark.wa.gov/community-planning/environmental-justice-coalition.

A recording of the meeting will also be available for viewing afterward.
