Prep highlights: Mallory Vancleave drives in six runs in Ridgefield softball’s 16-5 win over Columbia River

Mallory Vancleave hit a home run and drove in six runs and Mckenzie Bowling added a double and home run as the Ridgefield softball team beat Columbia River 16-5 in a 2A Greater St. Helens League game Friday in Salmon Creek.

Vancleave went 3 for 5, and Bowling was 2 for 4 with two runs, two RBI and two walks.

Kaylen Wingerd went 2 for 3 with three runs, two RBI and three walks for the Spudders, who jumped out to a 9-0 lead after 2.5 innings. Charlie Harris was 4 for 5 with two runs.

Aurora Wiley hit a two-run home run for River.

Stars of the day

Kylie Stroup, Heritage softball, went 2 for 2 with a triple, two runs and RBI in a 16-0 win over Hudson’s Bay.

Colbie Mannien, Kalama softball, went 2 for 3 with two runs in a 7-4 win over Castle Rock.

Ellie Forster, Seton Catholic softball, went 3 for 3 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in a 7-6 loss to Toutle Lake.

Gracelynn Huffman, Woodland softball, went 1 for 1, with two runs, an RBI, two walks and pitched two hitless innings in a 16-0 win over Washougal.

Cassidy Barrows, Hockinson softball, went 2 for 3 with two runs, two doubles and two RBI in a 9-5 win over R.A. Long.

Zoey Hughes, Battle Ground softball, struck out 12 in two-hit shutout as the Tigers beat Kelso 11-0.

Hailey Ferguson, Battle Ground softball, hit a three-run home run, her fifth of the week in the win over Kelso.

Carston Mallory, Union baseball, went 2 for 2 in a 5-4 win over Timberline.

Rocco Wright, Ridgefield baseball, had two doubles and three RBI and gave up one earned runs in 4.2 innings pitched in a 12-2 win over Hudson’s Bay.

Trent Blatnik, Woodland baseball, went 3 for 3 with four runs, a double and two RBI in a 25-1 win over Fort Vancouver.

Diego Bejar, Evergreen boys soccer, scored all three of his team’s goals as the Plainsmen beat Battle Ground 3-2.
