Boys basketball: Centralia 60, Hockinson 38
Friday, December 23, 2011
The Hockinson boys basketball team could bounce back after tough loss to W.F. West last night, falling 60-38 at Centralia.
“After a tough loss and with the travel today up to Centralia, it didn’t look like we had our legs under us tonight,” Hockinson coach Matt Gruhler said.
Centralia came out firing, taking a 20-5 lead after one quarter.
“They made a lot of shots, and we couldn’t keep up,” Gruhler said. “They had 14 offensive rebounds, and we only had 13 defensive rebounds. So they really beat us on the boards.”
Justin Schauer led the Hawks (2-7) with 13 points, and Jess Krahn had eight rebounds. Hockinson will travel to play in the Energy Classic at Gillette, Wyo., next week.
