Girls basketball: Camas 56, South Eugene 45

Jenka Stiasna scored nine of her 13 points in a big fourth quarter for Camas as the Papermakers won their opening game in the Nike Interstate Shootout in Lake Oswego, Ore.

Camas (5-1) will play South Salem at 5 p.m. Wednesday in a quarterfinal game in the State Farm Bracket of the tournament at Lake Oswego High School.

Stiasna, Tatum Schroeder and Kendra Preuninger combined to score 20 of Camas’ 21 points in the fourth quarter as the Papermakers used a 21-7 advantage to swing a 38-35 deficit. Schroeder and Preuninger each finished with 11 points.

“We did a nice job of executing in the fourth quarter,” Camas coach Chuck Knight said. “Tough defense got it done.”
