Coax Liberty wins Belmont’s Sometime Thing Stakes

NEW YORK (AP) — Coax Liberty rallied past the pacesetting Savvy Supreme to win the $60,000 Sometime Thing Stakes for 3-year-old fillies by two lengths on Friday at Belmont Park.

Ramon Dominguez was aboard for trainer James Lawrence as Coax Liberty got her fourth win in 11 starts. The time was 1:23.32 for the seven furlongs.

Coax Liberty, the early trailer in the five-horse field, paid $11.80, $4.40 and $2.80. Savvy Supreme returned $3.70 and $2.50 while Victoria’s Wildcat paid $2.40 to show.
