A motorcyclist suffered multiple broken ribs late Wednesday when he failed to merge onto Northeast Padden Parkway, from northbound Interstate 205, and had to lay down his bike.

As his Honda motorcycle went to the ground, Rex Meyers, 56, of Vancouver was thrown forward, according to a bulletin from the Washington State Patrol. His ribs broke when he crashed to the ground.

He was transported to Southwest Washington Medical Center, where he was treated and released, a hospital employee said.

Myers was cited for speeding.
