Ryan Littlefield scored the winning touchdown on a 22-yard pass from Seth Huhta with 30 seconds left in the game as the Monarchs beat Washougal at Longview Memorial Stadium.

The Mark Morris victory also made Hockinson the No. 1 seed out of the 2A GSHL after the Hawks beat Woodland. It also ended Washougal’s postseason hopes after a 6-0 start to the season.

Friday’s victory snapped a four-game losing streak for Mark Morris (3-5, 1-2 in league), which had dropped a pair of league decisions by a combined eight points — with both losses coming on late scores by the opponent.

Washougal struck first, scoring on a 27-yard pass from Colton Sullivan to Karsten Short in the second quarter.

Asbell led Mark Morris with 50 yards rushing on 14 carries, scoring on a 1-yard plunge late in the first half that drew the Monarchs even.

Washougal entered the night averaging 40 points per game with a low of 28.
