Cent. Arkansas beats Henderson St. 38-14 in opener

CONWAY, Ark. (AP) — Nathan Dick threw for 280 yards and three touchdowns, and Central Arkansas beat Henderson State 38-14 Thursday night in the season opener for both teams.

Dick connected with Al Lasker, Dominique Croom and Derrick Steele on touchdown passes of 40, 34 and 21 yards, respectively. Terence Bobo and Roosevelt Tyler added rushing touchdowns for the Bears, and Eddie Camara kicked a 42-yard field goal.

Jarvis Smith led the Reddies, a Division II school, with 17 carries for 87 yards. Nathan Nall was 18 of 34 for 158 yards passing, with one touchdown and one interception.

Central Arkansas led 31-0 with 13:57 left in the fourth quarter after Lasker’s 40-yard touchdown catch. The Bears finished with 429 yards of total offense.

The crowd of 12,755 was a record at Estes Stadium.
