PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Philadelphia Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren is hospitalized following a bike crash at the New Jersey shore.

Holmgren was injured Monday while riding his bike in Avalon, N.J. He was listed in stable condition Tuesday at a hospital in Camden, N.J.

A team spokesman says Holmgren is sore but in good spirits.

Players offered their best wishes for Holmgren on Twitter, including James van Riemsdyk (van-REEMZ’-dyk), who tweeted Holmgren was wearing a helmet. Defenseman Matt Carle called it a “scary, scary situation.”

Avalon police say Holmgren told officers he lost his balance while riding Monday morning and suffered a cut on his head and a scraped shin. No one else was involved in the accident.
