Wagner defeats St. Francis (Pa) 72-54

NEW YORK (AP) — Josh Thompson and Jonathon Williams led a balanced scoring attack with 11 points each, and Wagner defeated St. Francis (Pa.) 72-54 on Saturday night.

Orlando Parker and Latif Rivers added 10 points apiece for the Seahawks (19-4, 10-2 Northeast Conference), who have won four in a row and 12 of their past 13. Thompson also grabbed 10 rebounds for Wagner and Mario Moody had four of the Seahawks’ eight blocks.

Wagner outrebounded the Red Flash 50-32 and scored 22 second-chance points off 18 offensive rebounds.

The Seahawks led 39-24 at halftime and remained comfortably ahead over the final 20 minutes. A layup and free throw by Thompson gave Wagner its biggest lead off the game at 65-42 with 5:13 remaining.

Scott Eatherton had 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Stephon Whyatt and Anthony Ervin each added 10 points for the Red Flash (5-18, 4-8), who have lost four straight.
