Girls basketball: Hockinson 47, R.A. Long 31

Using an attacking offense and solid free throw shooting, the Hawks pulled away in the second half to force a league tiebreaker.

The victory tied Hockinson and R.A. Long at 3-5 in 2A Greater St. Helens League. The two teams will meet again at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Washougal in a league tiebreaker. The winner will advance to the 2A district tournament and the loser’s season will be over.

Maggie Smith and Jenna Haagen led the Hawks with 14 points each, and Katelyn McGuire added 12.
