Opus A wins the Big A’s Hildy’s Grey Stakes

NEW YORK (AP) — Opus A posted a pacesetting victory on Sunday, beating even-money favorite Great Gracie Dane by two lengths in the $75,000 Hildy’s Grey Stakes for New York-bred fillies and mares at Aqueduct.

The 8-5 second choice, Opus A improved to 2 for 2 on the season with her fifth win in 12 career starts. The 5-year-old ridden by Alan Garcia and trained by Rick Violette ran the one mile, 70 yards in 1:41.78.

Opus A paid $5.40, $2.70 and $2.10. Great Gracie Dane returned $2.40 and $2.10 while Risk a Chance paid $2.20 to show.
