Robert Morris holds off Sacred Heart 70-67

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (AP) — Coron Williams scored 20 points and Robert Morris held off Sacred Heart for a 70-67 win on Saturday night.

The Colonials (13-6, 4-2 Northeast Conference) led 37-30 at halftime and by as many as 15, 53-38, with 11:31 remaining.

The Pioneers (8-11, 2-4) made 7 of 13 3-pointers in the second half, and tied it at 67 on Shane Gibson’s 3-pointer with 2:37 to play. Sacred Heart, however, went cold from that point on missing its final four shots.

Lawrence Bridges went 2 of 3 from the free-throw line the resqt of the way to seal it for Robert Morris.

Williams was 8 of 13 as Robert Morris shot 49 percent from the field (24 of 49). Velton Jones chipped in 18 points off the bench for the Colonials.

Gibson led the Pioneers with 29 points, going 7 for 11 from 3-point range. Steve Glowiak added 16 points.
