NEW YORK (AP) — Cluster of Stars extended her undefeated streak to five, easily beating three rivals Saturday in the $190,000 Distaff Handicap for fillies and mares at Aqueduct.
A 4-year-old trained by Steve Asmussen, Cluster of Stars, the 1-5 favorite, won by 234 lengths over Miss d’Oro on the track rated good. Junior Alvarado, aboard for the first time, kept her on-or very close-to the pace during the six furlongs in 1:10.14.
Cluster or Stars paid $2.40 and $2.10, and Miss d’Oro paid $2.90.
Los Ojitos was third, followed by Nakano.
There was no show wagering.
