Letter: Gas tax one of highest in nation

The Columbian

Gas prices are going up again. Can you believe it? Washington state gas tax is 37.5 cents per gallon, which is among the highest in the country. State Rep. Judy Clibborn, D-Mercer Island, the House Transportation Committee chair, is seeking another 10-cents-per-gallon increase to the state’s gas tax. These are things that affect our pocketbooks and it’s getting out of hand.

I have seen a lot of waste and misuse of taxpayer money on the state’s part. I urge you to write Gov. Jay Inslee and voice your opinion on these tax proposals.
