Top-seeded Stony Brook routs Binghamton 72-49

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Anthony Jackson led four Stony Brook players in double figures with 16 points as the top-seeded Seawolves rolled over Binghamton 72-49 in the America East tournament quarterfinals Saturday.

Scott King added 13 points, Jameel Warney 12 and Dave Coley 11 for Stony Brook (24-6), which shot 52.9 percent (27 of 51) as it seeks to play in a third straight America East title game.

The Seawolves entered fifth nationally in defensive field goal percentage (37.4 percent) and held eighth-seeded Binghamton (3-27) to 40 percent (18 of 45) from the floor, including 6 of 18 from 3-point range. The Bearcats entered averaging 56.1 points per game, worst in America East, and have now lost 11 straight.

Freshman Jordan Reed paced Binghamton with 16 points and eight rebounds, capping a season in which he finished second in America East in points (16.7) and first in rebounds (9.6) per game.
