Ronnie Evenden ran for 254 yards and two touchdowns and Prairie turned a fast start into a runaway win over Hudson’s Bay at Kiggins Bowl.

The Falcons (3-3, 1-1 3A GSHL) opened the game with a three-play scoring drive and led 29-0 by the end of one quarter.

Prairie quarterback Tyler Armstrong threw for 205 yards and three touchdowns. He also had a rushing touchdown.

After being limited to a negative 35 yards in the first quarter, Hudson’s Bay (1-5, 0-2) scored on the first play of the second quarter. Quarterback Jeremy Matheny rolled to his left and found Ayrrius Presley alone behind the defense for an 82-yard score.

Eveden’s 56-yard touchdown run on a fourth-and-1 play moments later kept the Eagles from gaining any momentum from their first touchdown.

Two of Armstrong’s touchdown passes in the first quarter went to Jason Bracken, including a play on which Bracken juggled a slant pass several times before pulling it in with one arm on a play that covered 44 yards.

The Falcons led 50-6 by halftime.

For Hudson’s Bay, Matheny threw for 215 yards and three touchdowns, including second-half scores to DeWayne Whitnley and Nehemiah McDougal.
