King’s Way lacrosse in state semifinals

Brian Prigmore scored five goals and Evan Ramirez three on Saturday, leading King’s Way lacrosse to a 12-7 win over Klahowya that advances the Knights to the state semifinals.

Nathan Swift and Mikey Johnson each scored twice for King’s Way.

King’s Way will host Overlake at 7 p.m. Wednesday in a Washington High School Boys Lacrosse Association Division II semifinal match. The winner advances to play for the Division II state championship at 3 p.m. May 31 at Memorial Stadium in Seattle.

In the quarterfinal victory, King’s Way scored four times in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

In addition to his five goals, Prigmore fielded a team-best eight ground balls.

Conrad Littlefield made seven saves in goal, and Bailey Ferguson made two saves.

Vashon 12, Camas 9 — Vashon outscored Camas 4-1 in the fourth quarter to win Saturday’s quarterfinal match on Vashon Island. Camas started fast, building a 6-1 lead in the first quarter. But Vashon held the visitors to one goal in each of the final three quarters.

Austin Garwood scored four goals, fielded seven ground balls and won 11 faceoffs for Camas. Matt Welinski scored twice, and Gage Garret, Zach Quist and Bradley Stanchfield scored one goal apiece.
