Transit could be disrupted during evening storms

C-Tran is warning commuters and other travelers that tonight’s storms could cause route changes and missed stops.

“If you must travel — and will be using public transportation — be prepared,” the transit agency announced Tuesday afternoon. “Dress appropriately, plan your trip to include shelter when waiting for your bus, carry a flashlight and expect delays.”

Routes 4 and 44 were being rerouted around Fourth Plain Boulevard, which is closed between Andresen Road and Thurston Way, C-Tran announced at 3 p.m. Those buses will travel on Highway 500 instead.

Temperatures are expected to drop off from their recent warming, and heavy rains will likely continue tonight and into Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Those relying on transit services can follow C-Tran on Facebook, Twitter or call the agency at (360) 695-0123.
