Weather Eye: Sunshine and rain likely to alternate over the next several days

It appears that we are finally getting into a more progressive weather pattern, with alternating days of sunshine and rain. Sound like spring showers? Read on.

Skies slowly cleared Wednesday, and we enjoyed a fairly nice day weatherwise. Today, we do the same, but temperatures bump up to nearly 70 degrees. Can’t beat that. On Friday, clouds return and rain is slated for the evening and nighttime hours. More showers Saturday, nice most of Sunday and then more showers off and on next week.

The good news is that snow levels will be lower as the weather systems roll across the Pacific. This will add new snow to the upper regions and actually fall down to pass levels at times. Anything helps.

Now, this change in the weather patter sounds great; however, some forecast models show high pressure building back in later next week, keeping our weather warm and dry the rest of the month. Sound familiar?

If heading to the coast Friday, the rain will be accompanied by blustery winds, maybe gale force. Be careful.

Several readers said they got their spring peas planted before the deluge last weekend. The garden soil was quite workable before the record-setting rains Saturday.

With the mild evenings lately, the frogs are resonating to the limits. Can’t dispute it is springtime. We will be official with that statement Friday as spring arrives in our neck of the woods.

How will I celebrate? Maybe take a nap. Weather folks have been at it since March 1. Enjoy the calm before the storm later Friday.
