Washougal police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday evening at a Chase Bank branch in Washougal, the second bank robbery reported in Clark County that day.

Surveillance video at the Washougal bank, 733 E St., shows a white man entering the branch at about 5:45 p.m., shortly before closing time, according to a news release from the Washougal Police Department. The man pointed a handgun at a teller and demanded cash, the news release said.

He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. The news release described the suspect as 5-foot-6 with a small build. He was wearing mostly black, a black stocking cap and tan pants.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the department’s detective unit at 360-835-8701 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or to call 911 outside of regular business hours.

Police said the suspect is considered armed and dangerous, and that the public should not attempt to confront him.

The bank was the second Chase Bank branch in the county to be robbed Tuesday. Another man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after police say he robbed the Chase Bank near the Westfield Vancouver mall.
