Clark County sheriff’s deputies arrested two Vancouver men after chasing a reportedly stolen vehicle around St. Johns Road on Friday afternoon.

Around 4 p.m., a deputy on patrol saw a blue Honda Civic driving recklessly on St. Johns Road, according to the sheriff’s office. The deputy attempted to pull over the vehicle around the 6300 block of St. Johns Road, and the sheriff’s office said the vehicle slowed but did not stop.

Police dispatchers reported that the vehicle was reported as stolen in Vancouver. As the deputy watched, the passenger in the car jumped from the vehicle and ran east, and the car’s driver sped away northbound, the sheriff’s office said.

The deputy ran down and arrested the passenger, 18-year-old Larry Ruben Joy, the sheriff’s office said.

Another deputy spotted the Honda in the area of Northeast 63rd Street and Northeast Andresen Road, darting through traffic, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies and Vancouver Police officers cornered the car on the 6600 block of Northeast 40th Street and arrested the driver, 19-year-old Zachary M. Foulke, according to the sheriff’s office.

Both were booked into the Clark County Jail on suspicion of attempting to elude law enforcement and possession of a stolen vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
