Steven Carlisle of Hockinson was voted The Columbian’s high school football player of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Oct. 24.

Carlisle collected 48 percent of the 1,549 votes cast by fans to beat out Liam Fitzgerald of Camas, who had 20 percent.

Carlisle rushed for 102 yards on 11 carries and one touchdown in the Hawks’ win over Woodland.

The other nominees were Garrett McKee of Columbia River, Blake Ingram of Skyview and Tommy Herz of Ridgefield.

Nominees and the online ballot are posted at www.360preps.com each Saturday and voting continues until 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Players may be elected player of the week once per month, and no player can be nominated for the honor in consecutive weeks.
